HEALTH AND SAFETY

We take your well-being seriously and regularly review our processes to meet the latest regulations.
If you observe anything concerning, please inform a member of our team so we can address it right away.

Patient Safety Charter

Our practice nurtures a safety culture where patient protection guides every aspect of our work,
from daily care to setting objectives, developing procedures, and selecting equipment.
We also maintain an open environment where team members can freely discuss challenges to better serve our patients.

To uphold patient safety, we:

  • Follow up-to-date infection prevention guidelines, including those from NHS England.
  • Use single-use instruments or ensure thorough sterilization between each use.
  • Disinfect all treatment areas (chairs, handheld tools, and surfaces) between patients.
  • Maintain strict personal hygiene, including clinical attire and limited jewelry.
  • Regularly test and disinfect dental unit waterlines to ensure water quality.
  • Handle and dispose of waste according to current regulations using authorized carriers.
  • Seek occupational health advice if a team member may have a blood-borne infection, following all recommended guidance.
  • Train every team member in safeguarding children and vulnerable adults, with policies reviewed and updated routinely.
  • Implement a clinical governance system that identifies, assesses, and manages risks and incidents for continuous improvement.

The Practice Manager holds overall responsibility for health and safety at the practice,
supported by regular team meetings, ongoing training, professional development, and appraisals.
We always welcome questions, comments, and suggestions from patients.

Please contact the Practice Manager if you have any concerns or feedback.
Your input helps us maintain the highest standards of patient care and safety.
